Susan Sessions
In 2011 Susan retired from the classroom and launched Susan Sessions Tutoring. And the rest, as they say, is history. Susan Sessions Tutoring was voted Best Learning Center in the Heights, Oaks Forest and Garden Oaks in The Leader Newspaper’s 2013 and 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards.
Susan Sessions received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1969 and began her teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher at Walnut Bend Elementary. She went on to teach 4th grade at Ed White Elementary and 3rd grade at Longfellow Elementary. In 1995 she joined the corporate world of education, becoming a Center Director for Sylvan Learning Systems. She was named the 1996 Sylvan Regional Director of the Year.
The call of the classroom came once again in the fall of 2002 when she was offered a 5th grade position at Harvard Elementary in the Heights. In 2004 and 2011, Susan was named Harvard’s Teacher of the Year.
